Cleave Unto The Lord

Acts 11

Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

BARNABAS WHO WAS SENT TO TAKE OVER THE church at Antioch was a remarkable man.
We are first introduced to him by name when he sold his property and gave all the proceeds to the Apostles for the preaching of the gospel.
Later all we see him committed to serving the Apostles.

Here the Apostles sent him to Antioch to become the Pastor of the church.
He was truly a remarkable man.

In our text today, he is talking to the Brethren; he is encouraging them. He is teaching them; and his ministry to the people was simple…. Cleave to the Lord!
He understood that there will be challenges in our walk with God.
He knew so many things may not work out as we thought and prayed they will!
He knew the fact that even some in church will disappoint us.
He knew that many times situations and circumstance may not go as we desired.
He counsels us; he admonishes us. Contemporary

English Version says “he begged them.”; he encourages us to CLEAVE TO THE LORD!
That is the answer! When we cleave to the Lord, without giving up, eventually all things work together for our good.

Cleave to the Lord. Never give up. Hold the Lord tightly! Cleave, glue unto the Lord.
What else will you rather do!
Cleaving to the Lord is all there is.

It doesn’t matter what happens, cleave to the Lord. Don’t let go of Him. Hold the Lord tightly!
Even when you are confused, cleave to the Lord!
When you don’t understand what is happening, cleave to the Lord!
With the Lord, there is a Hell to shun and a Heaven to gain.

With the Lord is the promise of deliverance. With the Lord is the promise of eternity. With the Lord is life and peace!
I say to you, regardless of what is going on in your life…….CLEAVE UNTO THE LORD!

To the ends of the earth!
God bless you richly with great grace and many blessings!

Hold The Ropes

Acts 9

25 Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.

OUR TEXT TODAY IS A WONDERFUL BLESSING!
Paul’s life was in danger. And some of the Brethren came up with this ingenious idea to put him in a basket and let him down a wall that is about sixty feet high.

Interestingly, at that very moment Paul’s life was in their hands.
If they did not hold the ropes well, Paul will fall off the basket to his death. If the dropped him carelessly, Paul would have crash landed to his hurt.

At this very moment, Paul and all that he will come to represent were in the hands of these men. The very dispensation of grace was in their hands…….in how the held the ropes.
It is clear also to note that the Blessed Spirit was brutally silent here concerning who these men were. He refuses to give us even their names!
It is clear then that these men were out to serve and propagate the gospel. They were not interested in fame, renown, stardom, publicity or recognition.

To these “faceless” men God committed the life of the greatest apostle to walk in shoe leather.
Thank God they did not fail. Paul was dropped safely to the ground and unto safety.
It must be clear that those men may not have known Paul’s future. But they rendered their service at the very risk of their own lives.

God has called you to hold the rope in different areas. May the ropes never fall off your hand.
You may be holding the rope for someone’s salvation, don’t let go.

Every Believer is holding the rope for the advancement of the gospel, hold the rope until the gospel gets to all the places it is supposed to get to by your hands.
Don’t be weary or faint. Your reward shall be great. HOLD THE ROPE!

To the ends of the earth!
God bless you richly with great grace and many blessings!

Go Everywhere Preaching

Acts 8

4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

THE GOSPEL IS MEANT TO BE preached by every believer regardless of their temporal occupation.
Here in Acts we see how seriously the early Believers took the ministry of the gospel. Every Believer was responsible for the dissemination of the gospel.  Continue reading Go Everywhere Preaching

Two Things Necessary for Success

Acts 6

But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

THERE ARE ONLY TWO THINGS necessary for success.
And these two things are Prayer and the Word.
These are the ONLY two things necessary for overwhelming success.
Every other ingredient of success will be found in these two.
The Word and prayer must be given great attention.
They are both equally important.

When a man possesses prayer and the Word, then he is properly armed for success.
A man can only succeed to the degree that he has these two ingredients.

The APOSTLES were not just talking about just a possession of prayer and the Word; they were talking about giving themselves over to prayer and the ministry of the Word. Alleluia!

Today, make a decision to GIVE yourself over to prayer and the Word and you will succeed beyond your wildest dreams!

To the ends of the earth!
God bless you richly with great grace and many blessings!

Prayer For Signs and Wonders

Acts 4

29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

WE MUST PRAY FOR SIGNS AND WONDERS.
They are important in our preaching of the gospel.
Signs and wonders command attention. It arrests the attention of the people and causes them to give heed to what we have to say.

Knowledge is not enough, signs and wonders must accompany it.
They went every where preaching and the Lord working with them and confirming the word with signs following.

Today, pray for signs and wonders in your life.
By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

To the ends of the earth!
God bless you richly with great grace and many blessings!

Faith In His Name

Acts 3

And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

READING THIS CHAPTER AND THIS MIRACLE CONTAINED in this chapter is always a thrill!
Here Peter dereligiousized a great miracle wrought by the Holy Ghost.

I have always wondered what causes miracles to happen. Here, Peter lays it out in no uncertain terms. If any body should know, he ought. After all, He is the one that just did the miracle.

He Is Coming Back

Acts 1

who also said, `Men, Galileans, why do ye stand gazing into the heaven? this Jesus who was received up from you into the heaven, shall so come in what manner ye saw him going on to the heaven.’

THIS WAS THE TESTIMONY OF TWO HOLY “MEN”!
The ” men” were obviously angels and not just men.
We know in scripture that angels can appear as men.
In this case they two of them did.
