2 Corinthians 6
2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
The instruction in our verse today is to be separate from the world and not to be segregated from them.
Segregation means we to live in places where we have no interaction whatsoever with the world. An example of that are the monasteries.
The thing here is that we are told to come out from among the world.
This has to do with our attitudes towards the things of this world. We must despise this world. We must not hold this world and the things it offers in high esteem. We must never desire the honors of this world.
We must be separate from the world. This is a true sanctified life.
In living out our sanctification we must consciously stay away from the things of this world. We must not emulate there music, their parties. We must not make their news our major source of information.
For us to influence the world, win and present it to the Master, we must be different from the world.
We must talk differently from the world; we must see differently from how the world sees. We must be able to see the invisible and do the impossible.
We must be well when the world is sick so we can minister healing to them. We must not talk their recession.
This is why it is so important that we are separate from the world. Our news comes from the Bible.
When their news channels are all talking recession, our Bible constantly affirms that we lie down in green pastures of abundance; we are led in still waters of prosperity.
We must be separated from the world in order to live above it.
For he that is from above is above all. And you are from above, therefore you are above this world system.
To the ends of the earth!
God bless you richly with great grace and many blessings!
