He Causes Us To Triumph

2 Corinthians 2

14 Now thanks [be] unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

It has become a beacon of comfort, an oasis in the desert of challenges; it has become an anchor in the midst of the waves of uncertainty. This scripture has brought several rays of beautiful sunshine of hope in the midst of the darkness of hopelessness. Continue reading He Causes Us To Triumph

All Shall Be Raised

1 Corinthians 15

22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Firstly we must state that universalism is a heresy.
The proponents of this believe that God is a loving God and as a result can not condemn any one to eternal damnation in a hell. Continue reading All Shall Be Raised

Speaking In The Tongues of Angels

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

For This Cause

1 Corinthians 11

30 For this cause many [are] weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

In writing to this Corinthians, he points out that they are in error when it comes to the way they participated in the Lord’s table. He made it clear that their wrong attitude and behaviour in participating in the Lord’s table was causing them harm. In fact, he points out that this is the reason many (not few) of them were weak, sick and even sleep (die). We then ask, what then is “this cause”?

The “this cause” is unveiled to us in the previous verse, that is verse 29. “For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.”
Notice that he says “he that eateth and drinketh unworthily”.

To eat the element of the Lord’s table unworthily means partaking of it in an improper and irreverent manner. Remember that when ever this Brethren gathered it was rambunctious and a fighting over food.
They fought over who got what during their love feast and then carried that attitude into the observance of the Lord’s table. As a result, they partook of the Lord’s table irreverently.
And because they are partaking of it irreverently, they are not discerning properly that it was more than crackers and wine. They were not discerning that what they are observing was a command from the Lord. They are not discerning that by observing the Lord’s table, they are shewing forth the Lord’s death until He comes.
As a result of this, they are not releasing and taking advantage of the Blessing and power of the Lord’s table.

Though weak, sick and dying, when they partake of the Lord’s table, they still remain weak, sick and die.
No, participating in the Lord’s table is supposed to reverse these things.

Always observe the Lord’s table with proper reverence, and you will unleash the power in it.
To the ends of the earth!
God bless you richly with great grace and many blessings!

Choose Gratitude

1 Corinthians 10

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

MURMURERS HAVE NO FUTURE IN THE KINGDOM of God and generally in life.
The life of a murmurer is hard, bitter, and extremely difficult.

In our text today, we are instructed not to murmur as others did; and the consequence of their murmuring is that they were destroyed by the destroyer.
It shows that when people murmur, they open themselves up to the destroyer.
This is a very serious matter.

God hates murmuring. And murmuring opens people up to the destroyer.

Murmuring is ingratitude gone to seed. It means there is nothing to be grateful for.
Instead of murmuring, choose gratitude. Choose to be a grateful person. Find the things that will cause you to be grateful.

Gratitude is an amazing force that can turn failure to success; it can turn defeat to victory.

God wants us to be grateful in life. He wants us to be thankful for the opportunities, and privileges that we have.

I noticed that God is very disappointed when we don’t give thanks, when we are not grateful.
When our Lord Jesus healed the ten lepers in the Book of Luke, only one came to give thanks.
When the Master saw only one person come to give thanks, Jesus answering said, “Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.”

Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
That signifies He was expecting all of them to come back and thank Him!
Make a decision to confront life as a grateful person.
Gratitude is a choice, make that decision today to always be grateful not only to God, but also to every one that crosses you path.
Gratitude will put you over, and bring restoration into your life. Be grateful!

To the ends of the earth!
God bless you richly with great grace and many blessings!

The Place of Discipline

1 Corinthians 9

And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

PAUL IS MAKING AN ALLUSION TO THE FACT that when men strive for mastery in a thing they become temperate in all things.
In the same way, he argues, we should be temperate in all things.

Yes we may have many liberties; we may have many rights and privileges in Christ, but we must not always use them all because we have to reach the unsaved, and lift up the weaker Brethren among us.
This tells us the quality of this man and the things that were important to him.

Paul was so obsessed with reaching people for the Master that he became all things to all men.
He lived a very disciplined life.
It is important to know that without a life of discipline, a life of restraint, people will not achieve their goals.
Life doesn’t just happen!
Success doesn’t just happen!
Men discipline themselves in this world to obtain a corruptible crown; why shouldn’t we discipline ourselves in order to obtain an incorruptible crown?

The incorruptible crown Paul is talking about is not heaven. He is talking about the rewards due us when we get to heaven.
When we get to heaven we will be rewarded for the way we lived our lives for the Master here, and the way we carried out His instructions and the expansion of His kingdom.

You have to discipline yourself to give financially towards the gospel. You have to discipline yourself to pray for the advancement of the gospel. You have to discipline yourself to win souls and establish those souls in the kingdom. You have to discipline yourself to attend church and cell meetings regularly. You have to discipline yourself to read the Bible. You have to discipline yourself to fast. You have to discipline yourself to meditate on the word.

Our lives here are temporary. That is why Paul is saying we should be very temperate in all things here in order to obtain an incorruptible crown. Our eyes must be set on that incorruptible crown. We are really living for those rewards. And nothing should make us not to reach the goal of obtaining the crown.

The key to obtaining this crown is discipline, temperance.
